WAVE5 uses a medley of techniques. Pulsing is our first featured technique.
A pulse is a tempo-guided wave of pressure that travels from one point on a muscle to another. Unlike rolling techniques, the pulse uses varied levels of pressure instead of uniform force. This gives the muscle an opportunity to adapt to the pressure.
The pulse introduces gradual pressure and individualized attention to each part of the tissue. Pulsing uses your “feel good” intensity which is a pressure level that falls somewhere between “that feels really good” and “ouch that hurts.”
This avoids: triggering tension in the area you’re targeting, applying too much pressure, feeling unwanted next-day soreness.
